Please consider donating to Project Graduation Fund for 2023! Project Graduation is an all-night, substance-free celebration for the graduates on Thursday, June 1, 2023. The event begins immediately following the commencement ceremony and runs through the night, ending with breakfast in the morning. The event boasts a variety of activities and entertainment, including dinner, music, casino, auction, senior video, and tons of other activities with adult volunteer supervision. The Project Graduation Committee has been planning this great event for over 30 years to honor our graduates. The school does not sponsor Project Graduation, nor do we receive any funding from the school or the district’s budget. It is only through the generosity of parents, townspeople, the Elkhorn business community, and many other surrounding businesses that we have been able to host Project Graduation.

Jackson PTA is sponsoring our 10th Annual Walk-a-Thon as the primary fundraiser of the year. We chose a Walk-a-Thon as our fundraiser because 100% of the profits will benefit the students of Jackson School rather than 15-25% of the profits from a typical catalog/pizza/cookie dough fundraiser. Our PTA will use the proceeds from this event to fund classroom field trips, pay for assemblies and classroom activities, and support technology projects. Please help make this event a success by asking your friends and family to pledge a flat donation for your child’s participation in our Walk-a-Thon. This year pledges will only be collected online. There will be no pledge envelopes. Online pledges will be collected on a secure fundraising site called Classmunity. As a contribution is made please enter the student's name put the child's name and teacher's name in the Display Name Box to get credit for the donation. Please share this fundraiser with your friends and family and let’s make this year’s event our most successful yet! On Wednesday, September 29, Jackson students will walk over to the Walworth County Fairgrounds during the school day and walk laps (on the Relay for Life track) with their teachers and classmates. Each classroom teacher has signed up for an hour block of time for his/her class to participate in the Walk-A-Thon. Students are encouraged to collect pledges to benefit our PTA, but all students will participate in this fun event even if they do not collect pledges. The Walking Field trip Permission Slip you signed for your child’s class will cover our walk. Prizes and Incentives *The student who collects the most in pledges may choose between Principal or Gym Teacher for a ½ Day (this includes lunch!). *The classroom that collects the most pledge money will get a class PIZZA PARTY. *The top pledge earner from each grade level will receive a $50 Target gift card. *All students who raise $20 or more will receive a prize. This past summer, just before school started, Officer Joe Kirkpatrick, our School Resource Officer, passed away unexpectedly. Joe was a kind-hearted individual, and he loved our kids, loved his work, and loved serving others. He was also a very patriotic individual who loved our country. A group of colleagues and friends proposed a memorial for Officer Kirkpatrick in the area around the flagpole where he parked each day, honoring his contributions to the community over the past several decades. Monies raised from the Memorial fundraiser will cover materials and landscaping. Special thanks to local contractors assisting and for willing to donate all or a portion of their services: RC Welding and Fabrication - creating and donating the benches. Chris Egner Designs (Chris Egner) – project design Leibsle Services, LLC (Eric Leibsle) – Excavation and stone for the base Superior Landscaping (Rolando Sanchez) – paver and plantings Stebnitz Builders - contractor services Unilock - Brick We think Joe would be pleased with an effort to bring people together around the flag. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind. Join the EAHS Theater Department in celebrating the 25th Anniversary of this great, musical production. Ren, Ariel, and the town of Bomont will "cut loose" on the EAHS stage on Saturday, April 22nd at 7:00 P.M. and Sunday, April 23rd at 1:00 P.M. Don't miss this fun and heartwarming production.

Erica was an incredible example of courage as she battled several rounds of cancer over the years. I’ve never seen an employee with such grit and a desire to work and contribute. Even while undergoing exhausting treatments that would force most to stay home, she showed up and kept battling. Her family shared that “she fought the good fight and has passed onto her eternal glory.” Erica did all this while being a devoted single mother to her middle school-aged son. With the family's permission, we have set up a collection to benefit her son and assist with his ongoing support.

These skills enhance each student’s experience at the Pettit. When the KOI Instructors give the okay, you can skate on your own as a group, just like a public skating session. KOI Ambassadors stay on the ice to assist those who may need a little extra help and make sure everyone is having fun. Cost: $5.50. This fee includes ice time, skate rental, KOI Ambassador(s) and loads of fun! Lunch: Lunch is on your own. Please bring a bag lunch. Masks are not currently mandated by the Milwaukee Health Department. We respectfully request your consideration of others at all times in your social distancing and your health decisions. If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to someone with COVID in the past 14 days, then do not come to the Pettit Center. Thanks to a student-led project through a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), the Elkhorn Area High School is working on a project to install a 9.9 kW solar panel array in 2021 at the high school greenhouse. FFA members have set a goal of using grant writing and a local, community campaign to install a system at no cost additional cost to the district. The solar project will be used as an educational tool related to renewable energies and help generate energy savings for the next 25 years. Thanks to student grant writing, we have already received a very generous grant from Solar on Schools which will provide 27 solar panels for installation. A special thank you also to Renew Wisconsin Solar for Good program for starting us on our journey with a grant in the amount of $3600.

EAHS AP Language & Composition WE Service: 4K Warrior Run For the past 7 months, our class has engaged in service learning for the prevention of family violence. We're asking for your support to help those in this community who don't have the privilege of living in a stable home. With the pandemic and restrictions in place, many victims of domestic and child abuse feel at a loss in how to escape, and studies have shown a decrease in victims who advocate for the help they need. All proceeds from the run will be donated to our local APFV, to help those in need. Please join us on May 29th at 9:00 A.M.for a fun, worthwhile run through the EASD school grounds. Registration forms can be accessed by scanning the QR Code printed on the attached flier. Same day registration will begin at 8:00 A.M. To receive a t-shirt, advance registration only. Jackson PTA is sponsoring our 9th Annual Walk-a-Thon as the primary fundraiser of the year. As a contribution is made please enter the student's name in the comments box and the pledge will be credited to them. Please share this fundraiser with your friends and family and let’s make this year’s event our most successful yet! On Wednesday, May 26, Jackson students will walk over to the Walworth County Fairgrounds during the school day and walk laps (on the Relay for Life track) with their teachers and classmates. *The top pledge earner from each grade-level will receive a $50 Walmart gift card. *All students who raise $20 or more will receive a prize. Andrew is a student at the Elkhorn Middle School. At 6 years old Andrew was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. DMD is a genetic disorder characterized by the progressive loss of muscle. It is a multi-systemic condition affecting many parts of the body which results in deterioration of the skeletal, heart, and lung muscles. Today, Duchenne's has infiltrated every second of every day for Andrew and his family. Andrew's parents, Joe and Gina, work incredibly hard to provide for their family and bring as much "normalcy" as possible into their lives. Four dollars from every shirt will go to help Andrew's family with medical bills and equipment that is very much needed. Shirts are available in youth sizes XS-XL and adult sizes XS-3XL. Shirts can also be purchased with cash or check at the middle school office. Please help support Andrew and his family.

SEYFA, our football league did meet last week and determined that we would start the season on Monday, August 24th. We will have 7 or 8 games with the first one to be scheduled on September, 12th. This means our first practice date will be August 24th. Plan for all grade levels to meet at the MS fields @ 5:00. Those students in grades 6-8 who did not make it to the fitting, that is okay, just be sure to show up at 4:00 on the 24th to get fit and receive your equipment or you can attend an additional fitting scheduled on August 3rd from 5:00-6:30 PM at the HS field concession stands. Students in grades 3, 4-5 we are close to a point that if we have enough 3rd-grade families interested then we can split the team and run a 3-4 team and a separate 5th-grade team. I have included families with third graders who had indicated an interest in playing football. If in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade and you desire to play tackle this fall, please register using this link if you have not done so already. I will need to make a decision by the first week of August, so please complete the initial deposit by then. If we don't end up with enough additions we may have to consider keeping it 4th/5th. If you are experiencing a financial hardship that is preventing you from registering your child, just email me and we'll get them registered. Parents who are already registered, I have modified the registration page to allow for the additional fee to be paid. You can choose to do two $50 payments at your own pace, or pay the additional $100 at once. The payments will be refunded if the season is canceled. In total, the cost is $150, which goes to pay officials and equipment costs. After we have this additional window of signups we will hold an additional fitting for all new registrants and those who missed the first fittings on August 3rd from 5:00-6:30 PM at the HS field concession stands. Let me know if you have any questions. -- Jason TadlockDistrict AdministratorElkhorn Area School DistrictPhone: 262-723-3160 EXT 1401CEll: 608-558-8401Twitter: @Elkhorn_Supt, @JasonKTadlock

With the unfortunate circumstances, the Elkhorn Area High School Student Council is sad to announce the cancelation of our annual Dodgeball Tournament. We are still asking for any monetary donations for the Mnuk Family during this uncertain time. We hope that you and your family consider supporting Mackenzie Mnuk and help make a huge difference in someone’s life. About Mackenzie: Since 2018, Mackenzie has endured 5 skull surgeries, 2 LP shunt (abdominal) surgeries, 6 spinal/shunt taps, 2 emergency visits, over 8-week long hospital stays, in addition to her several scheduled and unscheduled trips to University of Chicago for post-op care and emergency visits. Mackenzie's compromised health limits her ability to work, drive, participate in sports, and hang out with friends. Despite her medical challenges, Mackenzie enjoys school activities (such as Drama Club, HOSA, National Honors Society, Link Crew, Peer Tutoring, and Key Club), church youth group, and volunteering.

The Chili cook-off is a family-friendly event which promotes a sense of community and support for our students with Autism. Last year around 200 students and their families participated. It was a successful and fun event! The mission of EAST (Elkhorn Autism Support Team) is to provide support, education, and resources while increasing understanding about autism for students, school staff, families, and the community. Our supports include posting monthly tips for staff members to reference, problem-solving and collaborating with staff about the needs of specific students, and developing professional development for teachers, staff and community. The way we collect funds for our TEAM is through our annual Chili & Soup Cook-off, which will be held this coming March 3, 2020 from 5-7 in the Middle School Gym in Elkhorn. We have staff make up their favorite chili or soup and bring it to the cook-off for the community and staff to purchase and enjoy while supporting our Autism Team. In addition to the chili ticket sales, we have a raffle and live auction of different items and baked goods to help raise additional funds for our organization.

Hello all parents, guardians, students, educators, and community members of Elkhorn. The Elkhorn Area High School Student Council is happy to announce the continued tradition of hosting an annual Dodgeball Tournament. The Dodgeball Tournament will include students of all ages with high school, middle school, and elementary school divisions, along with a basket drawing, bake sale, and much more. We hope that you and your family can come to support Mrs. Patzold and enjoy a night that will make a huge difference in someone’s life. Team Registrations: Elementary- 10 people per team, $20 per team Middle and High School- 7 people per team, $21 per team Teacher Teams- 7 people per team, $21 per team The entrance for this event is the front doors to the athletic lobby. Admission Cost? (non-participants) Adults: $5.00 Students (K-12): $3.00 Children (4 and Under): Free Why should you participate? The money raised will be given to Deb Patzold, a study hall supervisor at Elkhorn Middle School. The money will help her with medical costs such as gas to and from doctor’s appointments, as well as other related expenses. On July 6th, 2018, Deb Patzold was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). She has been working as a study hall supervisor at EAMS for 12 years, but she has been a part of the district for 20 years. Deb's leukemia was found at a routine blood test. There was an inconsistency in her blood counts that her doctor wanted to test further, so she went in for another blood test the following day. It was revealed that she had APL, a rare form of leukemia. She was admitted to Froedtert Hospital the next day and began treatment. Due to the possibility of internal bleeding on the brain, her doctor had her begin chemo right away. Her chemotherapy includes arsenic, which can be highly toxic if treated in the wrong doses. During the time she was in the hospital dealing with leukemia, her heart weakened and she had open heart surgery to replace a valve. Minor complications with this procedure pushed back her arsenic treatments, which she continues today. She has undergone chemotherapy since July 2018, and is uncertain when it will be completed. Deb is currently feeling pretty well, back to work part-time, but most importantly, her smile is back. How can you help? We need as many teams as possible from EASD elementaries, the middle school, the high school, and district teachers to compete in order to make this night fun and beneficial. Register a team of students or teachers here, or listen for announcements at your school. Contact meerslea000@students.elkhorn.k12.wi.us with any questions about the event, or to register a team. If you do not wish to participate, come and support your friends, family, and community members at the tournament. There will also be concessions, a basket raffle, and a bake sale that will directly benefit Mrs. Patzold.

On Sunday, September 16th Elkhorn Area High School Student, Michael Lois broke three vertebrae in his neck while diving into a swimming pool. Those who know Michael know that he is a determined, positive, and kind young man. He is a star football player and early commit to the Iowa Hawkeye football team. He is recovering from his injuries at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. Michael underwent two surgeries and is regaining feeling in much of his body. He is still struggling with hand mobility and grip, but he is progressing well beyond what the doctors have expected at this point, the Lois family is grateful for this. This campaign is set up using the School District's fundraising platform to help the family cover costs associated with his recovery. The Lois's are very humbled by the outpouring of support from the community and while they are usually in the position of being the givers they are very appreciative of the support they have received. Donations the family receives will go to help cover the costs of Michael's recovery. These costs include -Travel costs -Ongoing physical therapy -Medical Bills -Expensive medications to assist with nerve recovery -Constant ongoing treatments All proceeds from this campaign will go directly to the Lois Family. Please be sure to leave any good wishes in the display name area when making the donation and Michael will be able to see it.

This is our primary fundraiser for the girls' golf team. Your support is greatly appreciated. The funds raised will go towards additional training items and accessories that aren't covered in the golf budget. Our main purchases for next year will be to supplement our uniforms with rain gear and add as many new golf bags as we can. Here you can make a flat donation, or you can sponsor one of the girls for a penny per yard, with the total coming from 5 drives at one of our driving range sessions. This campaign is important to help the golf program have the additional tools, resources, and equipment to be as successful as can be. With last year's funds, we were able to purchase additional rangefinders and rule card sets that attach directly to the girl's golf bag. Thank you for your support!

Jackson PTA is sponsoring our 7th Annual Walk-a-Thon as the primary fundraiser of the year. We chose a Walk-a-Thon as our fundraiser because 100% of the profits will benefit the students of Jackson School rather than 15-25% of the profits from a typical catalog/pizza/cookie dough fundraiser. Our PTA will use the proceeds from this event to fund classroom fieldtrips, pay for assemblies and classroom activities, and support technology projects. Please help make this event a success by asking your friends and family to pledge a flat donation for your child’s participation in our Walk-a-Thon. Collect pledges before the event and enclose them in the envelope that will come home on Friday, September 14, or pledges can be made online, or a combination. On Wednesday, September 26, Jackson students will walk over to the Walworth County Fairgrounds during the school day and walk laps (on the Relay for Life track) with their teachers and classmates. Each classroom teacher has signed up for an hour block of time for his/her class to participate in the Walk-A-Thon. Students are encouraged to collect pledges to benefit our PTA, but all students will participate in this fun event even if they do not collect pledges. The Walking Fieldtrip Permission Slip you signed for your child’s class will cover our walk. The Elkhorn Technology and Engineering Club is a district wide club that exposes students to many activities, projects, and competitions related to the science, technology, and engineering fields. Classically, E-TEC students are also able to participate in competitions throughout the year. This campaign is for the Middle School's spring Gateway Sumo-Bot Competition. Funds raised will go toward presentation supplies needed for the competition, transportation, and to buy additional parts to allow more students to participate. Through this club and competition students learn important lessons in teamwork, collaboration, trial and error, and communication skills. Traditionally, students will face many problems related to the robot or their team and must learn how to persevere through all of the challenges they face. The competition is not possible to do without a strong sense of teamwork and respect from one another. Additionally, Students are exposed to, and are able to explore the fields of technology and engineering. The wonderful aspect of this club is that students can continue their interests in High School where they may chose to do a variety of other competitions, and more opportunities will be overall available to them. The E-TEC club as a whole has previously performed a short half-time show at a basketball game, set up a booth at "Freshman Fun Fest", and encouraged parents and teachers to join the students at an end of the year robot show and tell. Students are prideful of their work and encourage other students to participate in the club, and learn alongside of them.

Elkhorn High School DECA students are looking to raise funds to help offset the cost of attending both the State and International conferences and competitions. DECA events help prepare our students to be emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Students will attend helpful workshops where they will learn from business speakers and acquire one-of-a-kind insights, while networking with professionals and other high school students from around the State of Wisconsin. These experiences are eye opening for students and offer a unique opportunity to learn from a wider range of resources than are usually available. A small donation could help a student develop business and leadership skills. By attending these events/competitions, students receive experience in public speaking and problem solving thereby enhancing their leadership and business skills. Support Elkhorn DECA because these skills are critical for our future leaders. Encouraging and supporting our students to become better leaders and entrepreneurs will benefit all DECA members, future employers, and the community by creating an atmosphere that fosters achievement.

Elkhorn Area Middle School Leadership groups provide students with opportunities to promote positive school climate, build relationships with classmates, and develop a variety of leadership skills. Students are members of Peer Mediators, 7th Grade Leadership, and/or 8th Grade Leadership and all work together to plan, promote, and conduct activities to build community within our school and raise money to attend Wisconsin Association of School Councils (WASC) leadership development conferences and camps. EAMS Leadership students work hard all year to raise scholarship money for WASC camps and conferences by selling concessions at various school and district functions. Every year, EAMS has more students interested in attending WASC events, but not enough funds to send all qualified and interested leadership students. We are always working on ways to enable more students the opportunity to expand and grow their leadership skills, abilities, and talents. Leadership Group has led school-wide Red Ribbon Week activities, March Madness dress-up days, Bullying Prevention activities, Mix It Up at Lunch events, Creativity Conference and Color Run concessions, and dances. Students who attend these WASC leadership opportunities bring back ideas and enthusiasm to improve and expand the programs we provide for all students at EAMS.

EAHS hosts a fun night for our incoming freshmen to hear about sports and clubs available at the high school. We organize it in a way that is a carnival-like experience and excites our current 8th graders about being a part of our high school community. We would like to provide Class T-Shirts for those who attend the event. This would also provide an item of spirit wear for the freshmen next year. To welcome our freshmen, gain attendance, and set the incoming freshmen up with spirit wear. This will be a savings for families who typically purchase a spirit item for homecoming week during freshmen year.

ProStart Club is an extension of the EAHS Culinary Program lessons and activities. Students who participate in the club will gain culinary and hospitality industry experience through cooking challenges, fundraisers, school events, and statewide competitions. Although the ProStart Club will be continuously adding funds back into their account from various school wide sales, we are hoping to raise approximately $5,000.00 to get our new club started. Club leaders and advisors have taken many aspects into consideration to determine this amount. This is not a comprehensive list, but rather a reasonable estimate of potential budget categories: food supplies for competition, practice, events, and bake sales, transportation to and from practices and competition, proper competition attire, as well as competition and other special event equipment. Students will benefit from the opportunity to participate in experiences that directly correlate with the monies raised in this campaign.
