About this fundraiser: This year marks the 59th anniversary of the Waunakee Scholarship Fund! Since its inception in 1966, the fund has awarded $1,449,599 in scholarships to 6,336 students pursuing higher education following graduation. Last year, $54,725 in scholarships was awarded. This has been possible only because of the generosity of our wonderful community. The money collected is distributed equally to seniors who apply for the scholarship and participate in the Fund Drive program. As the community grows, so does our student population and the need for ongoing support of those students. The 2025 Waunakee High School graduating class consists of 330 students. It is anticipated that 85-90% of these students will attend a post-secondary education institution. On Wednesday, April 23rd, the WHS Senior Class participants will canvas the Waunakee Community to raise scholarship money that is then EQUALLY distributed to seniors who apply for the scholarship AND participate in the Fund Drive. You can also donate online through this CLASSMUNITY page or if you prefer to send a check, please make the check payable to : Waunakee Scholarship Fund and mail to 301 Community Drive, Waunakee WI 53597 OR drop off at the high school main office. Since we had a record number of Seniors sign up to take part, our goal this year is to raise $85,000. Again, all money collected is distributed EQUALLY to seniors who apply for this scholarship AND participate in the Fund Drive. Student checks are made payable to the college/university that the student plans to attend. Any questions can be directed to waunakeescholarship@gmail.com or please visit the scholarship website at https://whs.waunakee.k12.wi.us/community/waunakee-scholarship-drive Thank you! The Waunakee Warriors High School eSports Club is entering its third competitive season, building on last year's success. In 2023, our team finished 2nd in the state championship after a perfect regular season. This year, we continue to grow, with our Super Smash Brothers team qualifying for the state tournament and over 30 students participating across multiple game titles. Founded to provide competitive opportunities for students not involved in traditional sports, our club fosters teamwork and school pride. To help our players compete at the highest level, we need funds for season passes and infrastructure upgrades. Last year, we updated our monitors, and this year, we plan to purchase season passes and upgrade our computers/game systems for faster speeds and smoother gameplay. We appreciate your support in providing our student athletes with the tools they need to succeed and represent Waunakee with pride.

The Waunakee High School Global Studies class has decided to participate in funding people around the world with small loans through the organization called Kiva. These loans could potentially better their lives. From the Kiva website: "More than 1.7 billion people around the world are unbanked and can't access the financial services they need. Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 in San Francisco, with a mission to expand financial services access to help underserved communities thrive. We do this by crowdfunding loans and unlocking capital for the underserved, improving the quality and cost of financial services, and addressing the underlying barriers to financial access around the world. Through Kiva's work, students can pay for tuition, women can start businesses, farmers are able to invest in equipment and families can afford needed emergency care. By lending as littles as $5 on Kiva, you can be part of the solution and make a real difference in someone's life. 100 % of every dollar you lend on Kiva goes to funding loans." The Global Studies students were able to see many people looking for lending from many of the countries they have been studying and they have chosen an individual to lend money to. Once the loan is paid back, a future class can choose another individual to lend to. This campaign will be ongoing.

We come together with heavy hearts and a shared sense of purpose to honor the memory of Reed Ryan, a beloved member of our school and football program. Reed tragically passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest in November 2023 during an off-season training session while attending the University of Minnesota Duluth. While our facilities currently have some AEDs in place, we believe that increasing their number is crucial in minimizing precious time lost during emergencies. To that end, we’re launching a fundraiser to equip our community athletic facilities with additional Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) - life-saving devices that could prevent such a tragedy from happening again. Sudden cardiac arrest is an unpredictable and devastating event. However, with immediate intervention, lives can be saved. AEDs are essential tools that can make the difference between life and death. Our goal is to ensure these devices are readily accessible throughout our district's athletic facilities. By expanding access to AEDs, we are not only safeguarding the lives of our students, staff, and visitors but also creating a lasting legacy for Reed. We humbly ask for your support in this important initiative. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us achieve our goal of providing the necessary equipment to protect our school community. Together, we can transform this heartbreaking loss into a beacon of hope, making our school a safer place for all. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to making a difference in the memory of Reed.

Thank you for checking out our page! We are the combined high school gymnastics team for Waunakee and DeForest, and we are raising money for a new spring floor and carpet as well as two new balance beams. In addition to this fundraiser, we raise money by offering services throughout the year. Our team cleans up the football stadium following home football games, participates in wreath sales. Our gymnastics families help out by managing the concessions during our Youth Night. The Waunakee-DeForest gymnastics family also runs a summer gymnastics camp for kids ranging in age from 5 to 18. Your donation will not only provide the team with an equipment setup that offers added safety, it will also benefit the Waunakee and DeForest communities by allowing our gymnastics family to extend the increased safety advantages of the new floor setup and beams to our youth program.

UPDATE!!!!! Help us fill our wall!!! The Waunakee Innovation Center is a partnership between the Waunakee Community School District and the Waunakee Area Education Foundation. This resource space allows students and community members to explore innovation, ingenuity, and creativity through technology. Visitors to the Innovation Center will be able explore the integration of technology through collaborative projects and teamwork. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (also known as STEAM) education represents a large portion of our students and the new frontier of exploration. The Innovation Center offers a unique space where STEAM education can experienced by students and community. Our students are able to grow their STEAM skills through courses offered at Waunakee Community High School and then expand those skills in the Innovation Center. This space will soon offer a chance for community education classes to help introduce community members to new technologies becoming more prevalent in traditional areas. Now that we are set up we are working on opening up the Innovation Center members of the community to use for work on projects, explore hobbies and learn new skills but we need your help. We are constantly looking support in terms of financial and material donations. This campaign will allow us to: -Purchase cutting edge equipment and technology to facilitate exploration of innovative ideas -Allow district students and the community access to equipment not normally available. -Implement new curriculum offerings. -Create a "YES" space for all district wide curricular areas to collaborate in. -Host a wide variety of programming including educational programs, summer camps and other events for all Waunakee community members. -Build a community landmark. As part of this fundraising campaign we will also be finishing our donation wall that outside the Innovation Center is an integral part of the design of this space. On the right side of this page you will see a rewards section with more details on this wall. We will currently be offering a half price campaign for families to become part of the Innovation Center story. We are currently offering our 200.00 tile for 100.00 in order to finish the donor wall. To make a donation different than the predetermined amount simply click the "other" button and enter the amount you would like to donate. You may also choose to set up a recurring donation if you would like. Students, teachers and community members all benefit from this space because users are able to chase their dreams and explore their ideas without fear using innovative technology and collaborating with some of the brightest minds in Waunakee and the world. The Innovation Center is a focal point that the community can be proud of.

The Homerun Club is running a Capital Campaign to fund much needed improvements to the Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball fields at the High School with the goal of bettering the overall experience for the players, coaches and fans. Our goal is to raise $225,000 for all of the improvements, to be completed in phases: Phase 1: COMPLETED IN 2018 and 2019 *DUGOUTS-The existing Varsity field dugouts were far too small for a typical roster size and coaching staff at the Varsity Level. The JV field didn't have any dugouts, therefore the JV players and coaches were left out in the open during bad weather events. -Both teams now have dugouts. *PROTECTIVE FENCE CAPS- Both fields had protective fence caps installed along the top of the outfield fences. Additional protective fence caps needed to be added along the top of the foul line fencing to help prevent injury to a player reaching over to make a catch. - Protective fence caps have been added along the top of the foul line fencing. *NEW SCOREBOARDS FOR BOTH THE VARSITY AND JV FIELDS - The existing scoreboards provide minimal information for players, coaches and fans. - Both fields have new scoreboards. - CURRENTLY WORKING ON - Phase 2 and 3: *VARSITY FIELD UPGRADED SOUND SYSTEM - The existing sound system is dated and somewhat difficult to hear and understand. *JV FIELD BATTING CAGE- The JV field has no batting cage which limits the JV coaching staffs ability to conduct high quality practices and provide good pregame warm-up. *JV FIELD BULLPENS - There are no bullpens on the JV field which requires pitchers to warm up without a pitching mound in foul territory during games. The new bullpens will improve the in-game experience and safety of our players, they will also improve the quality of practices and pregame warm-ups. *VARSITY FIELD BATTER'S EYE SCREENING - There is no batter's eye background on the varsity field, therefore the background for a hitter above the outfield fence is the High School building, which is lighter in color making it more difficult for a hitter to see the baseball. *JV FIELD OUTFIELD FENCE REINFORCING AND WIND SCREEN - The JV field does not have a wind screen because the outfield fencing isn't strong enough to withstand strong winds if a windscreen is installed. *NEW CONCESSIONS AREA IN THE LOWER LEVEL OF THE PRESS BOX - Currently concessions are organized and served just adjacent to the press box using portable tables. The indoor area would greatly improve the ability of volunteers to organize and serve concessions especially during bad weather. In addition to the in-season games, the tournaments and games hosted by The Homerun Club throughout the spring and summer seasons bring hundreds of out of town guests into Waunakee. While at the games, these people shop and eat at the local businesses and become familiar with our community. The Homerun Club is excited to share multiple opportunities for you to help with our Capital Campaign. We hope to raise approximately $110,000. through our Pennant Program; approximately $30,000. through Scoreboard advertising; and the remaining $85,000. through personal donations. Each of these opportunities will allow community members and businesses to show your support for the Waunakee baseball team, High School athletics, and to the continued growth and positive development of our Village. The Homerun Club thanks you in advance for your generosity and dedication to our great community and it's continued efforts to Build On Tradition.

The Prairie Stomp is a school wide welcome back activity that serves as the major fundraiser for Prairie Elementary School. The 2023 Stomp will be on Thursday, September 28th with a rain date of September 29. This approach to fundraising avoids selling products and directs ALL profits (less Stomp expenses) back to the school by encouraging students to get pledges and run laps to raise money for FTO programming. Yearly FTO programming includes staff appreciation dinners, RAZ kids online library, and funding for special events and field trips. In addition to our yearly programming, the 2023 Stomp will be raising money for a new PA system and funds for the music department. Students are encouraged to collect either a flat donation or per lap pledge. On the event day, students run/walk a looped track on the school field for 20 minutes. The students gain an appreciation of teamwork, a sense of school unity, and the importance of being healthy and exercising all while having fun with their fellow classmates. The FTO provides each child with a FREE Prairie Stomp t-shirt and a healthy snack on the event day. The students also work together, as a school, to achieve school wide fundraising goals and earn prizes. The prize levels are as follows: $10,000 - Teachers dress in costume for a day! $15,000 - All-school assembly with guest performer! $20,000 - All-school movie on the new big screen in the gym! For each grade, the classroom with the highest AVERAGE laps per student will earn an extra recess with music. We want everyone to know that the success of this event is not possible without your support and the tremendous efforts of perseverance, determination, and will-power of each student to do their very best. We will celebrate the collective effort of every student! Thank you for supporting Prairie in such a positive way. As a sponsor, you can donate a set amount (flat donation) prior to the event. If you prefer to make a per lap donation, we ask that you wait to enter your donation until after the event. The student you are pledging will let you know after the event how many laps he/she completed so you may calculate the total amount to be donated. REMEMBER, Prairie FTO is a 501(3)c organization and any donation you make to the Prairie Stomp is tax-deductible. Donations can be made anytime beginning August 8 through October 13, 2023. The company we use to buy the books also then donates a matching number of books to children around the country. Money earned beyond the cost of the books will be used toward the fabric students use to create blankets for these first grade readers.

In our 5th grade classes, we read the book The Tiger Rising, by Kate DiCamillo, which features a tiger who is mistreated and in need of rescuing. In helping students understand the relevance and to connect our curriculum to a global problem, we would like to raise awareness and funds to help the local nonprofit, Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue in Rock Springs, Wisconsin. This nonprofit has a close connection with Waunakee, as many people in the community have donated their Christmas trees for the tigers to play with! As many of the tigers surrendered are older, they have increased medical needs. We would like to work towards raising $1,500 to contribute to the vet bills of these tigers, as well as provide them with some Boomer Balls to help keep them agile! Thank you for helping bring awareness to the needs of animals in our community. If you’d like to learn more about this organization, feel free to visit their website or facility.

The Waunakee Middle School Dance Team is moving on UP! Our program began in 2019 with 12 dancers, and we’ve quickly grown in size to where we will be splitting UP into two teams this year! We are pumped UP to offer this extracurricular activity where middle schoolers can express themselves, make new friends, be part of a team, and build confidence. We rely on our sUPer dance families and friends for funding which goes towards: - UPkeep: Poms, music-cutting, choreography, competition fees, recognition, etc. - Switching it UP: The school district introduced new branding last year which requires us to get new pom outfits. - Party UP: Did we mention we like to have fun? We also use funds for team bonding events, a holiday party, and end of season celebration. Please help us keep UP the good work: Fundraising for these team costs offsets the team fees and we truly want to keep our program accessible for everyone! To reflect our high hopes for a great season this year, we’ve set a goal of raising $2,023. Please consider sUPporting our online fundraiser. Our school is currently running a fundraising campaign to support our staff throughout the year. This includes meals at conference time and teacher appreciation week. In the past we have asked for families to drop off items, however, by raising funds, we will hope to make it easier on you by coordinating the meal and treat efforts. We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, but if you are able to contribute, your donation would make a meaningful impact. Every dollar counts, and even a small contribution can help us reach our goal! Your support is invaluable to us, and we appreciate any help you can provide! Thank you for being a part of our school community!

Our 5th-grade students have a unique opportunity to learn about history through a live performance by the 1st Brigade Band, a Civil War reenactment group based in Watertown. According to their website, "In 1864, eighteen men from the Brodhead Brass Band enlisted in the Union Army and became the 1st Brigade Band, 3rd Division, 15th Army Corps. The 'Tradition of Excellence' that these men established more than 150 years ago continues today." We are excited to bring the band to our school in April. To make this experience possible, we kindly request your support in fundraising. We aim to raise $1000 to cover the expenses of bringing the 1st Brigade Band to our school on April 30th. Any contribution, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and support! Sincerely, WIS 5th Grade Teachers

About this Fundraiser: This year marks the 58th anniversary of the Waunakee Scholarship Fund! Since its inception in 1966, the fund has awarded $1,394,874 in scholarships to 6,214 students pursuing higher education following graduation. Last year alone, $57,475 in scholarships was awarded. This has been possible only because of the generosity of our wonderful community. As the community grows, so does our student population and the need for ongoing support of those students. The 2024 Waunakee High School graduating class consists of 350 students. It is anticipated that 85-90% of these students will attend a post-secondary education institution. On Wednesday, April 24th, the WHS Senior Class participants will canvass the Waunakee Community to raise scholarship money. You can also donate online through this Classmunity page or if you prefer to send in a check, please make the check payable to: Waunakee Scholarship Fund, 301 Community Drive, Waunakee WI 53597. Our goal this year is to raise $55,000. All money collected is distributed to seniors who apply for this scholarship AND participate in the Fund Drive. Checks are made payable to the college/university that the student plans to attend. Any questions can be directed to waunakeescholarship@gmail.com or please visit the scholarship website at https://whs.waunakee.k12.wi.us/community/waunakee-scholarship-drive

Please join us Tuesday, May 21st from 4-7 p.m. for the Heritage Elementary Art Show! We invite you to join your little artist/s as they guide you through the halls of Heritage Elementary showcasing their masterpieces. There will also be an opportunity to take a fun family photo in our art themed photo booth and students will receive a small gift as they depart the show. Their one-of-a-kind original artwork will hopefully inspire you to make a donation to Heritage FTO. The funds raised will help support the art department as well as other efforts like school events, teacher appreciation, musical instruments, class trips, supplies, etc. While their creations are "free of charge", donations are encouraged but completely optional. Our goal is to raise $3,000. Thank you for your support of Heritage Elementary and the FTO. We hope you can join us and leave inspired and proud of your creative children!

About this Fundraiser: Project Graduation is the culminating celebration hosted by parents and the community for the Waunakee Community High School graduating class. Studies have shown that the highest number of teen drunk driving fatalities occur on graduation nights. That's why we offer Project Graduation, an alternative with the goal to keep our kids safe. Project Graduation is a SUBSTANCE FREE party for WCHS seniors held at the high school following the graduation ceremony. It boasts a variety of activities and entertainment including a hypnotist and games. In addition, food is served and tons of prizes, (including CASH), are awarded at the end of the night. As always, adult volunteers will chaperone. WE hope you will demonstrate your support of this event by making a tax deductible financial contribution. We are grateful that the Waunakee community and surrounding area businesses have traditionally endorsed our efforts to provide a safe environment in which the senior class can celebrate graduation night together. Intermediate students are collecting change for part of the fifth grade Snuggle Up and Read service project. The money collected will be used to purchase books for over 75 first grade students in a neighboring community. The company we use to buy the books also then donates a matching number of books to children around the country. Money earned beyond the cost of the books will be used toward the fabric students use to create blankets for these first grade readers.

The Prairie Stomp is a school wide welcome back activity that serves as the major fundraiser for Prairie Elementary School. The 2024 Stomp will be on Thursday, September 26th with a rain date of September 27th. In addition to our yearly programming, the 2024 Stomp will be raising money for an outdoor fitness course (two year goal), book walk, and updates to the gaga pits. The prize levels are as follows: $10,000 - Staff dress in costumes for a day! $15,000 - All-school assembly with guest performer! $20,000 - Grade level "big screen" movie day! REMEMBER, your donation may be tax-deductible. You are able print off a receipt for your records. Donations can be made anytime beginning August 23 through October 11, 2024.

Our entire fifth grade team's goal is to provide a tie-blanket and at least one book for each first grader at Westside Elementary School in Sun Prairie. Westside is a community school that relies on help from its neighborhoods to help make a difference in the lives of several children that have families that may struggle from time to time. We’d like to remind and share with these first graders the joy found in reading; especially when snuggling into a comfy blanket. Each fifth grade homeroom will be making five or six tie blankets. This will allow each of the 78 first grade students at Westside to have his/her own blanket as well as to have at least one book. We will work in homerooms to make the blankets, but we need some help in purchasing material for the blankets. It costs about $15 to make one 4 x 6 tie-blanket as well as provide a student-decorated gift bag for each blanket and book. The blankets and books are delivered prior to the first graders going on their winter break so they can have a book and a blanket to snuggle up and read with. A committee made up of students, alumni, accompanists and music teachers explored, played and studied many high quality grand pianos this summer. After much discussion, this group has recommended the purchase of the Yamaha S6X for our PAC. The Waunakee has continually committed to providing students and community members with the latest technology. whether it's software, hardware, tools or instruments, in each vocation, we want our students to work with the tools that they will experience in their lives after high school. What pianos do professional musicians use or do they play or sing along with in their music-making? The Yamaha S6X is a professional level instrument with hand made precision-crafted elements that set it apart, while keeping it more affordable for schools and other institutions. Waunakee High School senior and pianist, Wilson Kierce, had this to say about the instrument: "I'm confident this piano is the right one for our space. The quality is unmatched, and I simply haven't played a piano on its level before." Copy this link to watch Wilson jam on the piano https://shorturl.at/ejmEY Help us celebrate the legacy of music in our schools with your donation to this concert grand piano that will resonate for years to come. All donations will be recognized on a plaque in our Performing Arts Center and recognized in our May concert programs.

As we look forward to another exciting and productive school year, we want to show our appreciation for the dedicated teachers and staff who work tirelessly to support our children. In the past, we've asked families to drop off items for meals, but this year we're making it easier by starting a "Classmunity" fund. This fund will be used to provide occasional meals and other tokens of appreciation for our amazing teachers and staff throughout the year. Instead of item drop-offs, we're simply asking for monetary donations, which allow us to plan and organize everything more efficiently. Your support is so deeply valued, and every contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping us show our gratitude for all that they do. Thank you for being a crucial part of this effort and for your continued generosity!
