Wheels are Falcon WINGS Challenge

by: Gregg Gutschow

Thanks to an incredible $30,000 matching challenge pledge from our very own Amherst alumnus Mr. Jerry Guyant, we finally are on the road to being able to purchase a new 9-passenger van (and maybe a used minivan as well?) to help us to transport our students to academic and athletic events and competitions. Most neighboring school districts, as a result of huge bussing shortages, have vehicles like this, but we do not. We have bridged this very large gap for years by renting vehicles and reimbursing for personal vehicle use. This solution is costly and unreliable, and our students suffer as a result. Every dollar donated will be matched by Mr. Guyant up to $30,000 which will mean we will have $60,000 available when we have reached our goal. Please help our students. No donation is too small. Let's Go BLUE and help our students to "Fly Like a Falcon" on board some new wheels. Wheels are WINGS!

TRCCS Annual Campaign 2018 Image

TRCCS Annual Campaign 2018

by: Chamomile Nusz

The uniqueness of the Tomorrow River Community Charter School (TRCCS) draws students from far and wide to take advantage of the Waldorf-inspired curriculum. However, open enrollment creates a $2,490 funding gap per student, resulting in a $276,390 annual shortfall in public funding. We are embarking on our first year of an annual campaign to support the vision and mission of the TRCCS and to bridge that gap. How important is the Campaign Fund? ~In the past TRCCS has utilized a variety of fundraisers to support our programing. With a robust Annual Campaign we can reduce these fundraisers and the school will continue to be in a position to offer and expand the range of programs that make it an exceptional Public Waldorf experience. In addition it will support the expansion that the school needs to make as it grows with its students. Why is 100% participation important? ~The school’s financial strength depends upon the participation of the entire community. How much should we give? ~Won’t you consider making your children’s education, and their school, your top philanthropic priority? Please be as generous as you can be… and THANK YOU! What does the Annual Campaign support? ~Everything! It pays for the books in the library, the paint brushes for art class, science equipment, playground balls, movement items, the Healthy Lunch Fund, teacher scholarships, building renovations, and much more. YOUR GIFT MATTERS!!!! ~Gifts of all sizes make a difference. Your generosity allows us to offer students a unique educational experience and to strengthen programs. Gifts to the Annual Fund benefit every teacher and every student every day! How to Give: ~You can make donations by CC with the option of making a single or monthly donation to support the vision and mission of TRCCS. You can also make donations by check and cash, donation envelopes can be picked up at the TRCCS office. These funds will help TRCCS bridge the gap in state and local funding created by our large percentage of Open Enrolled students. Thank You for your support!

Falcons Fly Together

by: Gregg Gutschow

The Amherst Art Department has been working with CREATE Portage County on its 2022 Paint the County initiative. We at the Tomorrow River School District were fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the four locations for this initiative. CREATE’s goal this year is to amplify student/youth voices in the creative process of murals in the county. We’re asking for your support of this amazing opportunity by encouraging our students to get involved throughout this experience! Where will the mural be located? In the cafeteria, on wood cutouts, overlapping the blue square sound buffers. Who is creating it? Wisconsin artist John Kowalczyk We’ve already had two high school student representatives engage in the interview process of three artists. Both students and adults are excited to work with John Kowalczyk. What will it look like? Both John and students K-12 will work together on the planning and creation of this artwork. The focus of the work will be Falcons Fly Together. Please see above a draft concept put together by the artist.

Falcon Pride PHASE II Image

Falcon Pride PHASE II

by: Gregg Gutschow

Falcon Pride continues to fly high here in our Tomorrow River Community. As you know, in September 2019 we completed Phase I of the Falcon Pride Project and celebrated the grand opening of our multi-use artificial turf soccer and football stadium. Expanded parking, a new 8-lane running track and field events area, and additional green space practice areas have turned our outdoors campus into one of the best in central Wisconsin. Every day, (until the snow flies) students of all ages are getting healthy, outdoors exercise via physical education classes on the turf surface. Phase I has been truly game-changing for our students, staff and community. So, now we embark on Falcon Pride Phase II, aimed primarily at renovating our baseball and softball fields, which, while playable, are sorely in need of substantial improvements. As you can see, we have itemized each element within Phase II and have included the budgeted cost for each. As we reach each total, that item will be built as soon as conditions allow. We do not need to wait to raise the full amount, as we did in Phase I. Will you help us reach the Phase II finish line? Phase II fundraising to date has already allowed us to complete new baseball and softball field dugouts as well as the new International Bank of Amherst Community Walking Trail! We understand that this is a difficult time for many. We are facing unprecedented challenges. Yet, despite all of this, so many incredible things are happening here on our K-12 campus and in our Amherst community. We are truly building for the future. As always, we have you, our friends and neighbors to thank. Once again, we appreciate your generous consideration of Falcon Pride Phase II. Sincerely, Mike Richie, District Administrator

TRCCS Spring Fling Image

TRCCS Spring Fling

by: Chamomile Nusz

Join us for an adult evening of fun! The festivities will begin at 5:30 pm with games, silent auction, appetizers, drinks, music by Chris Kokesh and entertainment by the Truly Remarkable Loon. Dinner will begin at 8 pm and will include salad and entrees (including vegan and GF options). Diners will get to participate in a live auction during dinner. A dessert buffet will follow along with music by Ukelyptus, dancing, drinks, Fire Breathing by Broegy Pease and games. We hope you can join us for this magical springtime event. Proceeds from this event will go to support the TRCCS's Healthy Lunch Fund. This fund provides free or reduced lunches to families in need. Because the TRCCS does not participated in the Federal Public School Lunch Program no federal funding comes to the school for free and reduced lunches. It is very important for TRCCS to have the ability to offer daily healthy lunches for families who would normally be provided these lunches at a traditional public school. Please support this important by attending this fun social event! Transportation will be available from Stevens Point and Plover. On-site cabins are also available for rent, for details contact the TRCCS office at 715-346-2730 or info@trccs.org.
